Calendar updates

Once your calendar application subscribes to a feed provided by Calendar Sync for Jira, it will continue to receive updates and stay in sync with data from your Jira issues.

When you modify the feed configuration in Calendar Sync, the existing subscriptions will remain functional. This applies not only to the event contents but also to all other settings, including the fields utilized for calculating event date and time. The sole exception arises when you alter the fields designated for the Grouping tab, as each group possesses its own unique link.

The Calendar Sync feature updates feeds within a maximum of 5 minutes following any changes made in Jira. However, it's important to note that each calendar application behaves differently regarding subscriptions, which may result in a longer delay before changes are visible on the calendar. Below, you will find more information about the most popular calendar applications.

Google Calendar

According to its documentation, Google Calendar automatically refreshes several times a day. However, it may take up to 12 hours for changes made in Jira to be reflected in Google Calendar. This delay is solely managed by Google Calendar. In contrast, Calendar Sync for Jira provides updated data within just 5 minutes. Please note that users cannot manually trigger a refresh.

Apple iPhone or iPad

The frequency of updates can be customized within the fetch settings. Additionally, users have the option to initiate updates manually whenever needed.

Microsoft Outlook (Desktop)

Outlook synchronizes the calendars whenever the Send / Receive action is performed, whether it's invoked manually or with the automatic polling interval.

Microsoft http://Outlook.com

According to http://Outlook.com documentation, it may take more than 24 hours until a change in Jira is reflected in http://Outlook.com . This delay is entirely under control of Outlook; Calendar Sync for Jira provides updated data within 5 minutes. Users cannot perform the refresh manually.
